Giant Squid
Don has an addiction problem. We went to Pancake parlour for dinner and Don spent about $3.40 on a 20 cent game, an old fashioned version of the pincer arcade game where you have to control the mechanical arm to grab a prize. We won many mints and a glow-in-the-dark ants set, which got stuck in the machine.
The aquarium was great, and my favourite jelly fish enclosure was terrific as usual. The Giant squid was only 7m, but thrilling to see it frozen in time. Don is disappointed cause the exhibit was sucky, with lil info on giant squids.

Babies popping out everywhere!
Thad's school is closed today and we've made it water day. We soaked our feet in essential oils this AM and gave each other foot massages. We're headed for the aquarium in a bit.
Yesterday, we were talking about Thad's teachers that are pregnant and how "babies pop out when they are ready". He then remarked, "(Unamed teacher) - is she pregnant? Or is she fat I think she is fat." Crickey!
Today, we were talking about how we shouldn't use love in barter trade and we shouldn't hurt other people's feelings. He then asked, innocently with his eyebrows furrowed, whether people who don't love do not have a heart.

Bike ride
We went bike riding yesterday along the Yarra trail, covering only slightly more than 3 km of it (6km there and back). The entire trail is 33 km. Along the way, there are really cool rock wall installations for avid rock climbers. Thad tried to climb and isn't bad! Suprising for such a sisy neneh, who can't catch a ball, kick a ball properly or hang from monkey bars for more than 3 seconds before frantically yelling for help. Thad told me the other day that he wishes he could swing from the monkey bars, cause the kids in the other rooms, who are younger and smaller than him, can swing.
Don almost died yesterday cause he rode with Thad in the back child seat, which is really meant for 1-3 year olds. Not only did he have an extra heavy load to pedal, he also didn't know how to work the gears, meaning that his very unused muscles were shocked into extra hard work and are still burning like the fires of Mordor. We're looking to buy a tandem bike add-on for Thad.
A few days ago, we chanced upon Thad's old friend's birthday party. We've lost contact but nonetheless, I felt strangely left out that we weren't invited.
Our neighbour and friend from kinder has a new addition to the family. Mom gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Friday. Congratulations on the sleep eater!!!

Howl
Dad had 2 stents inserted in his L main coronaries yesterday and is recovering well. Thad made this drawing for him, which I will post tomorrow.
We're starting a modified star chart thingy to deal with the Accidents issue. Thad was fully toilet trained ealier than most of his gender matched peers. After being continent for about 2 years, he gradually started having more and more Accidents with urine, starting from about 4 months ago. No issue with poo. We were nonchalant about it for a while but it didn't go away and he said it hurt when he peed, so we saw the doctor in early July. He had a urine test and was treated empirically with co-amoxyclav. The urine, however, showed no growth nor many white cells. There doesn't seem to be any significant event or changes in his life / routines and there doesn't seem to be any other behavioural or emotional changes. He complains of pain occasionally in his penis when he does a wee. There is no ballooning of his foreskin when he goes. There is no change in colour nor blood in the urine and his nodes are not significantly enlarged. His sensation seems to be intact. He is, however, still not continent at night. He also has had 2 episisodes of a red scaly papular rash with satellite lesions in the inner folds of his groin. The accidents happen mostly when he is occupied. Thad says that it is because he "doesn't know that he wants to go" or "by the time I get there, it's too late". Don took on a hard, strict, remove privillages approach, which I really hated. Since it wasn't effective, I've taken over, implementing this star chart.

We're quite excited about moving. The cleaners say the odour is the smell of old houses and lack of air flow and will dissapate with time. Hee hee... Don says my violent reaction is very common when making major acquiring decisions. I remember having a similar one initially when I got Artie, my 2000 Toyota Camry. I love Artie!!!
Have been watching Love My Way, my first foray into Australian... anything. It's a great drama series with a soundtrack by Little Birdy. In the first season, SPOILER-----> the 8 year old daughter of the lead dies of sudden cardiac death secondary to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Man, if anything ever happened to Thad, I would just crumble.
