Snakes Alive
Cloud gate was interesting. The subtleties of movement juxtaposed with coarse sudden jerks of bodies, arms, legs, fingers, toes, face and hair complemented the lightplay that reflected off golden sand that filled the stage, producing really evocative fluid motions to a background of droning, chant music and falling sand. Admitedly, it moved very slowly, and was an exercise in patience at times. Don, our friends and I nodded off midway and Thad kept asking what was happening and was slightly restless. He behaved remarkably well though, all things considered. I wonder why they advertised it as a kid's event.
We went to Myer after to play free computer games and went to Jane and my new fav Korean restaurant for dinner. Thad has added ox tongue to his list of fav foods. Others include fish eyeballs, escargots (the mollusc, not the pastry) and frog legs. He says that ox tongue tastes like snake tongue, which he's eaten in England. Snake tongue is slightly saltier, though.
Another smoke free day!

Up in Smoke - Part 2
Don's decided to give up the smokes!!! Yay! So proud of him! And he did 5 push-ups and 10 sit-ups last night! Way to go, my badminton jock!
Ghost Coast

We've just got back from the Gold Coast, though Thad keeps telling people that he went to the Ghost Coast.
We visited Movie World where we Entered the Matrix and Donald salivated and hyperventilated (and is looking forward to Melb's next sci-fi con).
We visited Sea world and I want to quit my job and become a dolphin trainer. Don won a bet with me cause I thought that porpoises are dolphins. Fact: They are actually distinct animals from whales and dolphins. I miss Petrina. Have some great dolphin pics for her.
We visited Dreamworld where Don stole Thad's pet food to feed the animals.
The best attraction we visited was Currumbin Wildlife park where I cuddled a koala and we fed lorikeets. My camera battery ran flat just as an eagle swopped down and clipped Don's head. Again, Don stole kangaroo feed from Thad and got his foot crushed by an eager, hungry adult red roo.
We stayed right at the beach, thanks to my lovely aunt's generosity in lending us her apartment. She rocks.
Thad got submerged by a humongous wave and has now waged war against the ocean.
Here in Melbourne, I've cleaned the grouting in our bathrooms and they sparkle. Don's friend who is a pro toilet cleaner however, is not impressed with my work. Donald will not mix with such company any longer.
I donated alot of Thad's old toys and books. He was nonplussed when I told him and was glad that less fortunate children would be able to play with his toys. He wailed, however, when I told him that I had removed the photos from the wall. Don and I wailed with him. We're moving cause my agent's anally retentive.
